Rehabs near Little Rock
The city of Little Rock is the capital of the “Natural State” of Arkansas. French explorer Bérnard de la Harpe named the town after discovering a small rock formation on the Arkansas River. This historic town is best known for its role in the American Civil Rights movement. In 1957, President Dwight D. Eisenhower ordered the National Guard to escort a group of African American students into Little Rock Central High School. These young adults were the first students in Arkansas to attend a non-segregated school after the 1954 Brown vs. Board of Education hearing, which deemed school segregation illegal. The history of this monumental city is inspirational. Still, many do not know that it is severely suffering from an Opioid epidemic. The city of Little Rock has one of the highest rates of Oxycodone use in the state. In 2015, there was an average of 37 pills dispensed for every single resident in the city. However, the problem seems to be statewide, with the sale of Opioids being 25% higher in Arkansas than the national average. Little Rock is battling a severe Opioid epidemic, but fortunately, there is hope. There are addiction treatment centers ready to support anyone in need. Check out some nearby facilities.
